Join your colleagues from the Las Vegas Tourist Guides Guild for our May 2013, Edu-gathering at Vegas Weddings main chapel near downtown Las Vegas.
The self-proclaimed “Wedding Capital of the World,” Las Vegas issues approximately 120,000 marriage licenses a year, with chapels up and down the Strip & cultural corridor. Learn firsthand about “Matrimonial Tourism” and the birthplace of high-profile weddings.
Participants will first tour the main chapel on 3rd Street and discover more about Vegas Weddings and why the chapel was built, then take a short walking tour down the block, passing the Wedding Commission, where quick Civil Ceremonies are offered, and the Marriage License Bureau at 3rd & Clark, where ALL couples getting married need to go to get their marriage license.
We’ll continue past the Regional Justice Center and just across Lewis we’ll arrive at Vegas Wedding’s original chapel location, at 320 South 3rd Street, now known as the Casino Wedding Chapel.
Once inside, Las Vegas Tourist Guide Guild members and guests will gather in the Indoor Wedding Garden to enjoy an informative presentation on Matrimonial Tourism in Las Vegas. Refresh your memory on this important aspect of Vegas tourism and history – and maybe even learn something new!
The chapel is graciously providing hors d’oeuvres and drinks to get us all in the mood for love.

Street parking is free at 8 pm so bring 4 or 5 quarters to get through the hour before 8 pm. There is a big metered lot directly across from the 555 South 3rd St chapel that will have cleared out by 7 pm ($1 for an hour) , or you can park on 3rd street all up and down the three blocks, but spaces are also metered ( bring quarters). If you park across from 555, we can group walk back from 320 South 3rd St after the gathering.
