There is a large amount of information to cover, and this can be overwhelming, especially for topics that you may not know much about. Therefore, we have compiled some papers for several broad topics that we call “Takeaways.” Out of all the information presented, the takeaways list specific information that we believe local guides should know. These are good to study for the final exam. In addition, all tour guide “practical tips” are considered “takeaways.” The takeaways don’t always provide “the answers” so, if after doing your research, you are unsure about the correct answer to any particular takeaway, please ask!
If we haven’t been clear enough – it is highly recommended that you take the time to study the takeaways and and learn the correct answers to the questions.
Work on the takeaways with a buddy or study group. It has been our experience that buddying up with a group of fellow class members leads to more fun and more successful learning! If no other class member has reached out to you yet, then you be the one to reach out! Create a group and have fun learning together. Go places together and share your knowledge and experiences, you’ll all grow faster!
